Good morning!
I hope you had a good day yesterday and maybe managed to get out into the garden and into the sun?
Today we're going to be starting English and Maths.
Here are your first tasks:
Maths: WALT: Know numbers up to 10,000
This is going to be a recap and a reminder of place value - therefore, it might be a bit easy to start with to help us get going again.
First, complete the first day of Flashback 4. You can find the answers here.
Then watch this video
There is a worksheet here
You can check your answers here
If you need a further challenge have a look at the first 2 slides of this PowerPoint
English: WALT: Write a chapter summary
We are beginning our unit on Historical Stories. Our focus to begin with is going to be on Michael Morpurgo's famous book - War Horse. You may have seen it at the theatre on at the cinema (or at home on DVD) but I films and plays are often slightly different to the book.
Begin by reading Chapter 1 of War Horse to get into the story.
Then read chapter 2, making notes as you go about what is happening.
I would like for you to take these notes and write a couple of paragraphs giving a summary of what happened in Chapter 2.
Make sure that you tell me about the characters and what happened to them. It has to be in the past tense and in chronological order (the correct order of events).
Art: WALT: Draw people in action.
Begin by having a look through this document. In it you will be asked to look at pictures and watch a video to think about what people look like when they're moving.
You will also see some art that has been made using people in action.
To help to get all body parts the right size, you use ovals to help which you will also see on the sheet.
When you are ready, have a go at drawing people in action for yourself using this sheet.
Computing: WALT: Know there are lots of different secret codes
Begin by watching this video
Then have a look at this document to give you some more information about codes.
When you are ready, have a go at cracking these codes.
