We're in the middle of assessment week this week so what I'm putting on the blog may be a bit different to what you would usually get for English and Maths.

You're lucky because yesterday we did a maths lesson as usual!

WALT: Order the events of the Battle of Marathon 

We began looking at the difference between Athens and Sparta last week. So have a look at this PowerPoint from slide 8 which will tell you all about the Battle of Marathon. 

Then have a look at this worksheet. Use the 3 star sheet and order the events from the Battle of Marathon. Read the PowerPoint again carefully to check to make sure you got it right!

We have been thinking about the key question:

I would like for you to begin by looking at the statements on this page. 

Sort them on a continuum line like this one

Some answers will definitely be right and some are open to discussion. See what you think. 

Then I would like for you to think about all that we have learned. What we have learned about Genesis 1. What Christians believe about Genesis 1 being an amazing poem and metaphor. Think about what we learned about scientists and what they think about the creation of the universe. Then I would like for you to write a short answer to the key question: 

 Creation and Science: Conflicting or Complimentary? 

What do you think? Do you think you can believe in Genesis 1 and Science? Explain using examples from what you have learned, including from the visit from Reverend Collishaw!
