WALT: Explore statistics

Today we are beginning to think about the key question: Why do some people believe in God and some people do not?

We are going to begin by looking at some statistics to see how many people believe in God in our local area.

Begin by looking at the global statistics for religion here. Then have a go at answering the following questions:

How many people are Christian?

What is the next biggest religion?

What is the difference between the number of people who believe in each religion?

What percentage of the word's population identify as Christian?

Next look at the local statistics here

Are the results similar to the global statistics?

How many people are Christian in Gloucestershire?

What is the second most popular religion in Gloucestershire?

What is the difference in number between the two religions?

How many people have no religion or don't state a religion in Gloucestershire?

What is the difference between the number of people who are Christian and those who have no religion?
